Help for Challenging Behavior: Assessment and Parenting Coaching

With specialized training in behavior and assessment, I offer therapeutic behavioral assessment designed to understand your child’s behavior in real-life settings and support meaningful, lasting change. This process includes careful observation of the child, collaboration with parents, and, when appropriate, information from teachers to better understand behavioral patterns. Together, we examine antecedents, consequences, and reinforcement to determine the behavior’s function, whether it is related to impulsivity, emotion dysregulation, or long-standing behavioral challenges.

Rather than focusing on labels or blame, we work to understand behavior with curiosity and compassion, asking, “What is this behavior communicating, and what does this child need?” From there, I help create measurable, observable, and individualized therapeutic plans that support both the child and the family system. I also provide parenting counseling and coaching to help parents better understand their child’s behavior, respond with intention instead of reactivity, and feel more confident and less lost when challenges arise. Using evidence-informed principles drawn from applied behavior analysis, we consider the basic elements of behavior change, including antecedents, behaviors, consequences, motivation, reinforcement, generalization, and data-informed decision making, to guide our work.

My goal is to walk alongside you, understand your child together, and build practical, compassionate strategies that support growth, connection, and positive change for your whole family.
