Building New Beginnings Across Two Homes
Rebuilding After Divorce or separation

During separation or divorce, children often sense change before fully understanding what is happening. Younger children may show confusion or anxiety, while teens may feel torn, stressed, or overwhelmed by shifting family dynamics.
Regardless of age, children benefit when parents prioritize emotional safety, consistency, and reassurance. In my work, I support families in creating stability and connection during transitions. With the right support, children and teens can build resilience and feel secure while navigating grief, loss, and complex emotions.
When Conflict Reaches Children & Teens— Prevention Tips
Triangulation occurs when tension between two adults is redirected through a third person, often a child.
Children should not feel responsible for adult conflicts, take sides, or carry emotions that are not theirs. Being placed in the middle can affect their sense of safety, loyalty, and emotional security, and strain relationships with parents.
I help families recognize these patterns and move toward healthier communication. Setting clear boundaries and keeping adult concerns between adults helps protect a child’s well-being and supports stability during transitions.

Building Safe Supportive Homes

At Katy Mosaic Integrative, therapy is tailored to support children, teens, and families adjusting to separation, divorce, and living in two homes.
Changes such as anger, withdrawal, or shifts in behavior can be signs that a child is struggling with the transition. Families often feel the impact as well.
Therapy provides a space to strengthen connection, rebuild stability, and support emotional well-being. With guidance, families can navigate these changes in a way that helps children feel more secure and supported.
